Kel, balalar, okylyk! This call of the outstanding Kazakh educator Ibray Altynsarin is known by every Kazakhstani schoolboy. Writer, ethnographer, publicist, public figure, I.Altynsarin is one of the founders of the Kazakh written literature and literary language, the author of the first Kazakh textbooks.
One of his main achievements is the opening of educational institutions. Thanks to his perseverance, patriotism and humanistic beliefs, I.Altynsarin achieved the creation of four two-class Russian-Kyrgyz, one handicraft, five township schools, as well as a teacher's school, thereby laying the foundations of secular education in the Kazakh steppe.
As a public figure, Ibrai Altynsarin actively worked to protect the interests of ordinary workers. In this regard, his works on the transformation of the socio-economic system and economic life of the Kazakh village deserve special attention.
